The Questions Jesus Asks
John 6:1-7
Joanne and I went away for three Sundays in July, and the two full weeks in between them. Great fun here and there, much relaxation, even some learning type stuff. A great way to just be together.
Three guest preachers spoke up on those Sundays I was gone. Each of them uniquely different from the others, each uniquely gifted for the work of ministry. I owe warm thanks and admiration to Bill Beatty, Lori MacDonald, and Don MacInnes.
Lori's sermon was actually a kind of audition, since she will be the teaching leader at our All-Church Retreat come September. More than half our church family gets away then to St. Dorothy's Rest, up in the lovely redwoods of Sonoma County. And she absolutely nailed it! Some folks were ready to sign up then and there for the retreat, eager for a full weekend of Lori's way with God's word.
So take a few minutes right now to feed your soul on Lori's message about how "the questions Jesus asks," puzzling as they sometimes are, never fail to make us stronger and wiser in the end.
